The end-of-life clock
Every router, NAS box and smart gadget runs software, and that software has security holes that are found over time. While the maker still ships updates, those holes get fixed. Once updates stop, they stay open for good, and anything connected to your home network becomes an easy way in.
Below are the products we've reviewed whose makers stop updates soonest, counted down to the day. Where a maker only gives a month, we count to the end of it. Products with no announced date aren't listed.
