How do you know a deal is real?

We check UK prices for every network switche we've reviewed every hour and keep the history. A price counts as a drop only when it's below what the product has actually sold for over the last month, not below a shop's "was" price, which is often made up.

Do I need a managed switch?

Only if you want VLANs, to keep cameras or smart-home kit apart from your computers, or to see traffic per port. For simply adding more wired ports, an unmanaged switch is cheaper and has nothing to set up.

How much PoE power do I need?

Add up the PoE draw of every device you'll plug in (a Wi-Fi 7 access point can need 20 to 30 W, a camera 5 to 12 W) and leave about a fifth spare. The switch's total PoE budget matters more than the number of PoE ports.
