NZXT H6 Flow
7.2out of 10verdict: good, not the best

The NZXT H6 Flow is for builders who want a mid-tower with strong cooling and an easy build. It suits gaming and general desktop systems with a graphics card, an air cooler or a top-mounted radiator, and only a few drives.

New to PC cases? What they are and what to look for

The case is the box that holds a desktop PC's parts, keeps them cool with fans and airflow, and sets how big and loud the finished PC is.

Do you need a PC case? Every desktop build needs one. It's also the part people see, so looks matter more here than anywhere else.

What to look for

  • Room for your graphics card's length and your CPU cooler's height
  • A mesh front panel and included fans for cooler, quieter running
  • The motherboard size it takes, and whether it fits on or under your desk

The full review

Where it fits

The H6 Flow is a dual-chamber mid-tower that takes ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards. It measures 435 x 287 x 415 mm and has a volume of 51.8 L. NZXT sells it in black (CC-H61FB-01) and white (CC-H61FW-01). The H6 Flow RGB is a separate model, so check the listing before buying.

The fan set makes airflow the focus of this case. The rest of the review follows that.

Airflow and cooling8/10

Three F120Q 120 mm fans come pre-installed, and a 120 mm rear fan is included as well. Each F120Q is rated at 1,200 ± 240 RPM, 62.18 CFM and 25.1 dBA. Four fans in the box means a buyer does not have to add any to get air moving through the case.

There is room to expand. The top takes three 120 mm fans or two 140 mm fans. It also supports a radiator up to 360 mm long and up to 30 mm thick. The rear supports a radiator up to 120 mm. The bottom takes two 140 mm intake fans, though bottom 120 mm mounting is not possible.

Owners praise the thermal performance. One complaint stands out, though: owners report that GPU temperatures rise when the lower fan mounts are populated. Anyone planning to fill the bottom mounts should read that report first and decide whether the extra intake is worth it.

Building in it8/10

Owners describe the build as easy and praise the cable management. Both are positive points.

The case takes an ATX power supply, with up to 200 mm of PSU clearance. That gives some room for longer units, though a buyer should check their own PSU length against that figure.

The H6 Flow does not include a CAM powered RGB Controller or Fan Controller out of the box. The fans are supplied, but a buyer who wants NZXT's controller hardware has to source it separately.

Space and compatibility7/10

Graphics cards can be up to 365 mm (14.4 in) long, and CPU coolers up to 163 mm (6.4 in) tall. The top also takes a radiator up to 360 mm, so a large all-in-one liquid cooler is an option there.

Storage is the weak spot. Owners complain about limited drive storage support. With that reported, a build that needs several drives should be checked against NZXT's published specifications before ordering.

Noise5/10

The three F120Q fans are rated at 25.1 dBA, with a speed range of 1,200 ± 240 RPM. Owners complain about noise at high fan speed. That ties the noise to how fast the fans run.

The case is built for airflow, and owner reports back that up on temperatures. They also show the trade-off: with four fans fitted, running them hard produces noise that owners notice.

Verdict

The H6 Flow suits builders who want a cool-running case with an easy build and a good set of included fans. The spec sheet supports that: four fans in the box, a 360 mm top radiator, a 365 mm GPU limit and 163 mm cooler clearance. The owner themes match, with praise for thermals, building and cable management.

The limits are clear as well. Drive storage is limited, noise at high fan speed draws complaints, and filling the lower fan mounts can raise GPU temperatures. For a gaming build with modest storage and fans kept at a sensible speed, those limits are manageable. For a quiet-first or storage-heavy build, another case would make more sense.

What owners report

Recurring themes from public owner feedback, summarised in our own words.

  • Owners praise the thermal performance.
  • Owners say the case is easy to build in and has good cable management.
  • Some owners complain about fan noise at high speed.
  • Owners report limited drive storage support and higher GPU temperatures when lower fan mounts are populated.
Who should skip it
  • Builders who need space for several storage drives
  • Buyers who want a quiet system with the fans at full speed
  • Anyone who wants a fan or RGB controller included in the box
