How do you know a deal is real?

We check UK prices for every motherboard we've reviewed every hour and keep the history. A price counts as a drop only when it's below what the product has actually sold for over the last month, not below a shop's "was" price, which is often made up.

Will it work with my processor and memory?

Check the socket matches your processor, and whether it takes DDR4 or DDR5 memory. Older boards may need a BIOS update for newer processors, so check whether it can update without a processor fitted.

Should I pay more for the higher chipset?

Only if you'll use what it adds, such as overclocking, more fast M.2 slots or extra USB ports. For most builds, a well-equipped mid-range board is the better deal.
