New to memory kits? What they are and what to look for
Memory (RAM) is a computer's short-term workspace. More memory lets you run more programs and browser tabs at once without slowing down.
Do you need memory (RAM)? Worth upgrading if your computer slows down with many apps open. Check which type and maximum amount your computer supports first.
What to look for
- The right type for your computer: DDR4 or DDR5, desktop or laptop size
- 16GB for everyday use, 32GB for heavier work
- Matching pairs of sticks

Where it fits
The Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 is a two-module DDR4 UDIMM kit with 288-pin modules. It was released in December 2019. It is non-ECC, so it belongs in desktops and workstations that use standard unbuffered memory, not in boards that require ECC.
The kit has no RGB lighting. Corsair sells its RGB model as a separate product. If you want a plain set of modules, that is the intended design here.
Speed and latency7/10
The headline figure is 3600 MT/s (PC4-28800) with timings of CL18-22-22-42. Corsair lists that speed as tested at 1.35V. The SPD lists 2666 MHz at 1.2V. The kit carries an XMP 2.0 profile.
The spec sheet gives no benchmark data, so there is nothing here on real-world gains. On paper, the kit is rated at 3600 MT/s with CL18 timings.
The 1.35V tested voltage is worth checking against your board and any other kits you plan to mix in.
Compatibility6/10
The module type is plain DDR4 UDIMM, 288-pin, with an XMP 2.0 profile. Owner reports describe easy installation and broad compatibility with builds. That feedback comes partly from a sibling variant of this kit, so read it as a general signal rather than a guarantee for your exact board.
If your board is picky about memory, check its own QVL before buying.
Capacity6/10
This SKU is 32GB as two 16GB modules.
Corsair lists sibling kits at 16GB, 32GB as 4 x 8GB, 64GB and 128GB with the same 3600 MT/s C18 rating. A 64GB kit made of 2 x 32GB modules also appears on Corsair's site. So there is a route to more memory within the same line, but that is a different purchase.
Reliability and warranty5/10
Check the retailer listing for that before you buy.
The kit is non-ECC. That rules it out for any server or NAS build where error-correcting memory is a requirement.
Fit
Being RGB-free removes any question of switching lighting off or syncing software. If you run a large air cooler that hangs over the memory slots, confirm the height against the cooler's clearance figures before ordering. Corsair's product page is the place to look.
What owners say
Buyers describe good performance and value for the price, easy installation, and broad compatibility with their builds. The one recurring note is the lack of RGB lighting, which some buyers pointed out. For anyone who wanted lighting, Corsair's separate RGB kit is the alternative to look at.
Verdict
This is a straightforward 32GB DDR4-3600 CL18 kit with XMP 2.0, no lighting and easy installs in owner reports. With non-ECC modules and no stated warranty or height, check those details against your needs first. If a plain, two-module DDR4 kit with a 3600 MT/s rating is what you want, the specifications and owner themes fit that job.
What owners report
Recurring themes from public owner feedback, summarised in our own words.
- Owners describe good performance and value for the price.
- Installation is reported as easy, with broad compatibility across builds.
- Some buyers noted the kit has no RGB lighting.
Who should skip it
- Server or NAS builders who need ECC memory
- Buyers who want RGB lighting on their memory
- Anyone needing more than 32GB from a two-module kit
